The Eight Core Industries comprise 40.27 per cent of the weight of items included in the Index of Industrial Production (IIP). The combined Index of Eight Core Industries stands at 129.8 in June, 2018, which was 6.7per centhigheras compared to the index of June, 2017. Its cumulative growth during April to June, 2018-19was 5.2per cent. Coal Coal production (weight: 10.33per cent)increased by 11.5 per cent in June, 2018 over June, 2017.
