1967 (1) TMI 67 - HC - VAT and Sales Tax
The petitioner, a financier, sought a writ of certiorari to stop the sale of a lorry attached by the tax department, claiming ownership under hire-purchase agreements. The court dismissed the petition, stating that the true nature of the transaction could not be determined in a writ proceeding and directed the petitioner to seek remedy in civil court within three months before the lorry is sold.
