1999 (7) TMI 648 - HC - VAT and Sales Tax
The High Court of Andhra Pradesh allowed a writ petition challenging a tax notice for arrears of Rs. 10,07,054. The petitioner supplied goods to government departments with tax deducted at source. The court directed the assessing officer to provisionally give credit based on tax deduction certificates, with verification to be done by the departments. Failure to provide necessary information may lead to contempt of court charges. The writ petition was disposed of with no costs.
