The High Court of Allahabad dismissed a writ petition challenging an order requiring a firm to furnish a bank guarantee of Rs. 63,85,000 to release seized goods, as the tax liability exceeded the value of the goods seized. The court held that the petitioner had an alternative remedy under the Income-tax Act to challenge the order. The petition was dismissed.
