The High Court dismissed the Commissioner of Income-tax's application seeking mandamus in a case where the assessee claimed a deduction of Rs. 75,000 as a bad debt due to the inability to recover the amount from a sick textile undertaking under the Sick Textile Undertakings (Nationalisation) Act, 1974. The Tribunal found no legal question and upheld the deduction. The application was dismissed with no costs.
