2022 (5) TMI 1539 - HC - CustomsSeeking release of goods - redemption fine and penalty provided in the adjudication order has been paid by the petitioner which was the condition for the release of the subject goods - HELD THAT - There are no reason for not releasing the goods - However since an appeal has been lodged the respondents are given two weeks commencing from the receipt of a copy of this order to have the appeal listed and to seek appropriate orders failing which the goods will be released to the petitioner. The writ petition is disposed of.
The High Court Delhi disposed of the writ petition stating that the redemption fine and penalty have been paid by the petitioner, so there is no reason to not release the goods. The respondents have two weeks to list the appeal; otherwise, the goods will be released to the petitioner.
