2017 (1) TMI 1812 - SCH - Indian LawsContribution of amount for the welfare of the employees of the Drugs Control Department of the respondent State - HELD THAT - It is suggested a figure at Rs.10 lakhs for this purpose which is acceptable to the petitioners and he states on instructions that Hindustan Unilever Limited would pay the aforesaid amount and deposit the same with the office of the Drugs Control Department. The Department shall spend the said amount in some welfare activity/ project for the benefits of the employees of the Drugs Control Department of the State of Uttar Pradesh. SLP disposed off.
The Supreme Court quashed a complaint filed in 1994 after 22 years, directing Hindustan Unilever Limited to contribute Rs. 10 lakhs for welfare of Drugs Control Department employees in Uttar Pradesh. The company agreed to pay and the case was disposed of accordingly.
