The Supreme Court upheld the denial of exemption to degraded aero tyres not specifically designed for animal drawn vehicles. Confiscation of the tyres was upheld, but the penalty was reduced to Rs. 1,000. No costs were awarded. (Case citation: 1997 (1) TMI 78 - Supreme Court)
