The High Court at Calcutta ordered a total refund of provisional duty amounting to Rs. 3,01,032 to the writ petitioner whose goods were destroyed in a warehouse fire. The respondents were directed to refund the amount within a fortnight, without deducting any warehouse rent. The order for refund is considered final and in the nature of mandamus.
