The Supreme Court of India dismissed the appeal due to a delay of 839 days in filing, with unsatisfactory explanations provided. The Attorney General found the delay shocking and proposed an inquiry. The appeal was also dismissed on the grounds that the judgments relied upon had already been approved by the Court in previous cases.
