2008 (11) TMI 257 - HC - Central Excise
The High Court at Calcutta heard a case where a penalty of Rs. 4,46,525 imposed by the adjudicating authority was reduced to Rs. 1 lac by the Tribunal without reasons. The Court found this order not sustainable in law, set it aside, and remitted the matter back to the Tribunal for disposal with reasons. All parties were directed to act on the signed copy of the order, and urgent copies were to be supplied upon request.
