1988 (6) TMI 163 - AT - Central Excise

The Appellate Tribunal CEGAT, Bombay required the applicants to deposit Rs. 85,171.23 for hearing their appeal on merits. The appellants contended that the Collector's order was erroneous and passed in violation of natural justice. The Collector (Appeals) order was found to have infirmities and a violation of natural justice, leading to an unconditional stay on the prior deposit and recovery.
