2024 (8) TMI 1460 - HC - GSTDirection to deposit a sum of Rs. 5.61 crores as amount payable in lieu of GST for allotment of a plot for long term lease - petitioner has deposited the amount under protest - HELD THAT - The respondent No.2 should grant an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner consider the objection raised by the petitioner and thereafter pass a reasoned order on the same within a period of eight weeks from date. The petition is disposed off.
The High Court of Allahabad heard a writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India where the petitioner challenged an order by the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority demanding Rs. 5.61 crores as GST for plot allotment. The court directed the respondent to grant a personal hearing to the petitioner, consider the objection raised, and pass a reasoned order within eight weeks. The writ petition was disposed of accordingly.
