The Appellate Tribunal CESTAT, Chennai heard an application for waiver of pre-deposit of service tax of Rs. 2,63,657 covering the period 1-1-2007 to 31-12-2007. The Tribunal directed pre-deposit of Rs. One lakh towards service tax within four weeks, with the balance amounts including penalty waived pending the appeal. Failure to comply would result in vacation of stay and dismissal of appeal without notice. Compliance was to be reported by 26-4-2010.
