1998 (6) TMI 275 - AT - Central Excise
The Appellate Tribunal CEGAT, New Delhi confirmed a demand of Rs. 24,79,523.74 on the Applicant for not receiving Shipbreaking scrap as some suppliers were fictitious. The Applicant was directed to deposit Rs. 10.00 Lakhs towards duty and Rs. 1.00 towards penalty within 12 weeks, failing which the appeal would be dismissed. Compliance was to be reported by 14th September, 1998.
