The Appellate Tribunal CEGAT, Mumbai ordered the confiscation of seven vacuum pumps found in excess, with an option to redeem by paying a fine of Rs. 10 lakhs and imposed a penalty of Rs. 2 lakhs. The appellant's penalty was set aside and the redemption fine reduced to Rs. 10 lakhs due to documented evidence and the importer's reputation. Appeal partly allowed.
