1999 (7) TMI 121 - AT - Customs

The Appellate Tribunal CEGAT, Mumbai considered the quantum of redemption fine in lieu of confiscation for ball bearings of Hungarian and Bulgarian origin. The Tribunal reduced the redemption fine to Rs. 4.00 lacs from Rs. 5.00 lacs as ordered by the Collector. The appeal was allowed in part.
