Central Government rescinds Notification No. S.O. 1610(E) dated 02nd, July 2008 - S.O. 614(E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 5th February, 2020 S.O. 614(E). -WHEREAS, M/s. Shivganga Real Estate Holders Pvt. Ltd., had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for Information Technology and Information Technology Enabled Services at Sargasan, (Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway), Taluka Gandhinagar, District Gandhinagar, in the State of Gujarat; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zone Rules 2006 , had notified an area of 37.5556 hectares vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification Number S.O. 1610(E) dated 02nd, July 2008; AND, WHEREAS, M/s. Shivganga Real Estate Holders Pvt. Ltd. has now proposed to de-notify entire area of 37.5556 hectares of the above Special Economic Zone; AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Gujarat has given its No Objection to the proposal vide Memo. No. IC/INFRA/NOC/1599722 dated 23rd December, 2019; AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, Kandla, Special Economic Zone has recommended the proposal for de-notification of entire area of 37.5556 Hectares of the Special Economic Zone; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by first proviso to rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006 , the Central Government hereby rescinds the above notification except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such rescission.
