8. Amendment of section 17.- In section 17 of the Income-tax Act, in clause (2), after sub-clause (vi), in the proviso, with effect from the 1st day of April, 2007,- (i) in clause (iii), after the words "Central Government", the words, brackets and figures "or the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority established under sub-section (1) of section 3 of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority Act, 1999,(41 of 1999)" shall be inserted; (ii) in clause (iv), after the words "Central Government", the words, brackets and figures "or the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority established under sub-section (1) of section 3 of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority Act, 1999,(41 of 1999)" shall be inserted.
