7. Notice of demand. Where any levy, interest or penalty is payable in consequence of any order passed under the provisions of Chapter VIII of the Act , the Assessing Officer shall serve upon the assessee a notice of demand in Form No. 2 specifying the sum so payable: Provided that where any sum is determined to be payable by the 1 [ assessee or e-commerce operator, as the case may be, ] under sub-section (1) of section 168 of the Act , the intimation under the said section shall be deemed to be a notice of demand. ******************* NOTES:- 1.
