Compensation to States for loss of revenue on account of introduction of goods and services tax. 18 . Parliament shall, by law, on the recommendation of the Goods and Services Tax Council, provide for compensation to the States for loss of revenue arising on account of implementation of the goods and services tax for a period of five years. ****************** NOTES:- 1. Shall come into force w.e.f. 16th day of September 2016 vide S.O. 2986(E) dated 16.09.2016 .
