Rule 14 - Direct transport, Transit and Trans‑shipment - Rules of Determination of Origin of Goods under the Preferential Trading Agreement between the Republic of India and the Republic of Chile Rules, 2007Extract Rule 14. Direct transport, Transit and Trans‑shipment <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> In order for the originating goods or products to benefit from the preferential treatment provided for under the Agreement, they shall betransported directly between the Parties. The goods or products are transported directly provided: (a) they are transported through the territory of one or both Parties; (b) they are in transit through one or more territories of non-Parties, with or without trans‑shipment or temporary warehousing in such territories, under the surveillance of the customs authorities therein, provided that: (i) the transit entry is justified for geographical reasons or by consideration related exclusively to transport requirements; (ii) they are not intended for trade, consumption, use or employment in the country of transit; or (iii) they do not undergo operations other than unloading, reloading or any operation designed to preserve them in good condition; and (c) the period of such transit shall not exceed six months and goods under such transit shall bear the proof of having been under customs surveillance through necessary endorsements in the relevant customs document(s).
