Section 1 - Short title and commencement - The Companies (Amendment) Act, 2020Extract MINISTRY OF LAW AND JUSTICE (Legislative Department) New Delhi, the 28th September, 2020/Asvina 6, 1942 (Saka) The following Act of Parliament received the assent of the President on the 28th September, 2020 and is hereby published for general information:- THE COMPANIES (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2020 NO. 29 OF 2020 [ 28th September, 2020 .] An Act further to amend the Companies Act, 2013. Be it enacted by Parliament in the Seventy-first Year of the Republic of India as follows:- Short title and commencement. 1. (1) This Act may be called the Companies (Amendment) Act, 2020. (2) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint: Provided that different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act and any reference in any such provision to the commencement of this Act shall be construed as a reference to the coming into force of that provision.
