7. Amendment of section 16 In section 16 of the Income-tax Act, in clause (i), with effect from the 1st day of April, 1994, - (a) in the opening portion, for the words twelve thousand rupees , the words fifteen thousand rupees shall be substituted; (b) in the proviso, for the words twelve thousand rupees and fifteen thousand rupees , the words fifteen thousand rupees and eighteen thousand rupees shall respectively be substituted.
