CHAPTER IV AMENDMENTS TO THE GIFT-TAX ACT, 1958 31. Amendment of section 14B. In section 14B of the Gift-tax Act, 1958 (18 of 1958) (hereinafter referred to as the Gift-tax Act), after sub-section (3), the following sub-section shall be inserted and shall be deemed to have been inserted with effect from the 1st day of April, 1989, namely: - (4) The provisions of this section shall apply in respect of assessment for the assessment year commencing on the 1st day of April, 1989 and subsequent assessment years. .
