Article 45 - Provision for free and compulsory education for children - Constitution of India

Article 45. 1 [Provision for early childhood care and education to children below the age of six years. The State shall endeavour to provide early childhood care and education for all children until they complete the age of six years. ] *************** NOTES:- 1 . Substituted vide Article 3 of the Constitution (86th Amendment) Act, 2002 dated 12-12-2002 w.e.f. 01-04-2010, before it was read as, 45. Provision for free and compulsory education for children. The State shall endeavour to provide, within a period of ten years from the commencement of this Constitution, for free and compulsory education for all children until they complete the age of fourteen years.
