Inserted vide Article 39 of the Constitution (42nd Amendment) Act, 1976 dated 18-12-1976 , w.e.f. 01-02-1977. 2 . (1) Omitted vide Article 8 of the Constitution (43rd Amendment) Act, 1978 dated 13-04-1978 w.e.f. 13-04-1978, before it was read as, 1 [Constitutional validity of Central laws not to be considered in proceedings under Article 226. 226-A . Notwithstanding anything in Article 226, the High Court shall not consider the constitutional validity of any Central law in any proceedings under that article. ] (2) Any proceedings pending before a High Court under Article 226 of the Constitution immediately before the commencement of this Act may be dealt with by the High Court as if the said Article 226-A had been omitted with effect on and from the 1st day of February, 1977.
