HB Vol.1 - Gems and Jewellary Scheme - DGFT - 23 (RE-98)/1997-2002Extract HB Vol.1 - Gems and Jewellary Scheme Public Notice No.23(RE-98)/1997-2002 Dated 16-7-98 In exercise of powers conferred under paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, as notified in the Gazette of India extraordinary, Part-II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii) vide S.O.No. 283(E) dated 31.3.97, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendment in the Handbook of Procedures (Vol. 1), 1997-2002. (1) The first sentence in six months following the month/quarter during which the export proceeds are realised.paragraph 8.3 of Hand-Book of Procedures is amended to read as: "The application shall be filed within (2) The first sentence in Paragraph 8.9 is amended to read as follows:- "Export of rough diamonds is permissible of the imports made against relevant Bill of Entry for the purpose of replenishment benefit." (3) Paragraph 8.18 is substituted by the following: "In case advance remittance to DTC has been effected against the Diamond Imprest Licence within the validity period of such licence and import could not be effected within the validity period of this licence, then for the purpose of custom clearance such Diamond Imprest Licence shall stand automatically revalidated for a period of one month. (4) The first sentence of paragraph 8.55 of Hand-book of Procedures is amended to read as:- "Personal carriage of gold / Silver Platinum jewellery, precious, semi-precious stones, beads and articles as samples upto US $ 1,00,000 by exporters for export promotion tours and exhibitions is also permitted." (5) S.No. 2.6 in Appendix 30 A is substituted by the following: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sr. No. Export Product Replenishment Rate Import Items (%age of FOB) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.6 Rough Diamonds 95% Rough Diamonds uncut and unset ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- This amendment shall be applicable for the exports on or after 13th April, 1998. 2. This issues in public interest.
