Income-tax Act, 1961 : Order under section 119 : Extension of due date for filing of returns as well as for obtaining tax audit report on ground of disruption caused due to heavy rains/floods in the State of Gujarat F. No. 220/5/2006-ITA-II dated 13th October, 2006. On consideration of the reports of disruption caused due to heavy rains/floods in the State of Gujarat, the Central Board of Direct Taxes, in exercise of powers conferred under section 119 of the Income-tax Act, 1961, hereby extends the due date for obtaining tax audit report under section 44AB of the Income-tax Act as well as for filing of returns of income required to be furnished by 31st October, 2006, to 31st day of December, 2006, in the cases of income-tax assessees in the State of Gujarat.
