Circulars/Orders Dated 26-08-2016 Further extension of due date for filing returns from 31-8-2016 to 30-9-2016 in the State of Jammu Kashmir Subject : Order under section 119 of the Income-tax Act, 1961 On consideration of reports of dislocation of general life in certain areas of the State of Jammu Kashmir, the Central Board of Direct Taxes ( CBDT ), in exercise of powers conferred under section 119 of the Income-tax Act, 1961 ( Act ), hereby further extends the due-date for filing return of income from 31st August, 2016 to 30th September, 2016, in case of Income-tax assessees in the State of Jammu Kashmir who are required to file their return by the said due-date under section 139(1) of the Act read with order of the Central Board of Direct Taxes dated 29th July, 2016 issued under section 119 of the Act in file of even number.
