No. VIII(12) ACE/Tech/PN/06/2020 Dated: 22.04.2020 Public Notice-29/2020 Subject: Measures to facilitate trade during the lockdown period- Section 143AA of the Customs Act, 1962 - Amendment to Public Notice No. 22/2020- reg. Attention of the importers, Custom Brokers and all other stake holders is invited to Board Circular No. 17/2020-Customs dated 03.04.2020 and Public Notice No. 22/2020 dated 03.04.2020 dated ()3.04.2020 issued by this office wherein relaxation was given to accept an undertaking in lieu of bond required to be submitted under various provisions of the Customs Act. 1962, upto subject to the conditions specified in the said Public Notice. The said Public Notice was issued in the context of lockdown announced by the Government for the period 25.03.202() to due to COVID-19 pandemic. Now, vide Circular No. 21/2020- Customs dated Board has extended the tacility of accepting Undertaking in lieu of Bond in view of extension of lockdown till 2. It has accordingly been decided to (i) accept an undertaking in lieu of Bond till and (ii) extend the date of submission of proper bond in lieu of which the undertaking has been submitted. till 30.05.2020. 3. Furthermore, in reference to para 4.3 (ii) of the aforementioned Public Notice, the undertaking in lieu of bond is to be submitted by the registered email ID of the IBC holder or their authorized Customs Broker. In addition to this requirement. the importer/Custom Broker shall upload such Undertaking in e-Sanchit. 4. Other contents of the Public Notice No. 22/2020 dated 03.04.2020 remain same. Public Notice No. 22/2020 dated ()3.03.2020 stands amended to this extent. 5. All trade association/ members of Customs Brokers Association are requested to take note and publicize the contents of this Public Notice among their members/ constituents. 6. For the departmental officers. this may be treated as Standing Order. 7. Difficulties, if any, may be brought to the notice of Additional Commissioner of Customs (Technical), ACC Import, New Customs House, New Delhi.
