I am directed to enclose herewith a copy of Notification No. 1/90-C.E., (N.T.), dated 1-2-1990 on the above subject, Vide the aforesaid notification Rule 57F(4) has been substituted so as to provide for verification of the original duty paying documents on which Modvat credit has boon taken, by Central Excise officer and return the same to assessee after the defaccement.
