Attention of the Customs Brokers and all the members of the trade is invited to the above mentioned subject. The written examination of Customs Brokers Licensing Examination, for the Year 2024, shall be conducted by NACIN in the Month of March-2024 at the designated examination centers across India. Complete application is to be submitted in person or by Registered/ Speed Post in Form-A (available in the CBLR, 2018) along with two passport size photos and self attested documents on citizenship (Aadhaar/ Passport/ Voter Card), educational qualification, financial viability, mobile number, e-mail id and other requirements along with the prescribed fee of Rs.500/- (Rupees five hundred only)from 18.10.2023 to 17.11.2023 up to 06:00 PM to the Principal Commissioner/ Commissioner of Customs/ Customs (Prev)/Central Tax Customs, having jurisdiction over the area where the applicant intends to carry on his business. Applications sent by post, in case received after the last date shall not be entertained. Names of applicants found eligible to appear in examination will be displayed on the notice board and/or website of the Cochin Customs website (https://www.cochincustoms.gov.in/) latest by 08.12.2023. In case the declarations/Signature made and /or documents furnished are found to be false/incorrect/ forged at any time before or after the said examination or even after the grant of the Customs Broker license, not only the application would be liable to be rejected or license to be cancelled but also an appropriate action/proceeding would be initiated against thecandidate as per provisions of Customs Broker licensing regulation (CBLR), 2018, as amended and any other law for the time being in force. Before submitting the application, applicant should ensure the completeness of the application. Incomplete applications shall be summarily rejected. The online written examination will be a Computer Based Exam with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of two and half hours (10:30 hrs to 13:00 hrs) duration. Questions will be bilingual i.e. in English and Hindi. The pattern of the examination shall be as follows : No. of questions : 150 Marking scheme : +3 for each correct answer -1 for each incorrect answer Maximum marks : 450 Qualifying marks : 270 (60%) The candidates have the option to answer either in Hindi or in English. Successful candidates will be called for an oral examination for which separate communication will be sent. The syllabus of examination is prescribed in Regulation 6(7) of the Customs Brokers Licensing Regulations, 2018, as amended. Those qualifying in the said examination will have to appear for oral examination in terms of Regulation 6 of the said Regulations. The oral examination will be held during the second quarter of the calendar year 2024. The pass percentage marks for qualifying in the oral examination shall be 60%. Attention is invited to the Guidelines dated 29.08.2018 issued by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) and circulated by CBIC vide letter dated 10.10.2018 pertaining to the persons with benchmark disability. It is hereby advised that eligible candidates meeting this criteria of benchmark disability and willing to avail the benefit of these guidelines should appropriately intimate about their eligibility and willingness, duly substantiated with documentary evidence, so that necessary arrangements can be made by the exam conducting authority and its partner agencies. A dummy question paper for the purpose of awareness of candidates will be made available on the CBIC and NACIN websites www.cbic.gov.in and www.nacin.gov.in under the icon/tab GSTP/CBLR EXAM from February, 2024. A link to download the admit card will also be provided therein. Admit card shall also be sent by e-mail to eligible applicants 12 days in advance before the date of examination. For convenience of candidates, other necessary details like list of centers, guidelines to the candidates, help desk, e-mail id. etc will also be made available under the said icon/ tab. For any query regarding eligibility and process of application, please refer to the Customs Broker Licensing Regulation (CBLR), 2018, as amended, available at the websites (www.cbic.gov.in and www.nacin.gov.in) or contact the nearest Customs Commissionerate.
