To All Director Generals of Income Tax (Inv.)/ Cadre Controlling Chief Commissioners of Income Tax. Sub : Parameters for posting of officers in Investigation Wing Sir, With a view to strengthen the functioning of the Investigation Wing, cadre controlling CCIT/DGIT(Inv.) should adopt following selection parameters/criteria for deciding posting of officers in the Investigation Wing: (a) While posting an officer in the Investigation Wing, DGIT (Inv.)/Cadre Controlling CCIT should necessarily look into the ACRs of the officer. They should also look into other aspects like seniority, integrity and image of the officer. The matter can then be jointly decided by Member(Inv) and Member(P). DGIT(Inv) should also review the posting of officers presently posting in the Wing in light of criteria/parameters as laid down above. A compliance report should be sent to Member(Inv) in this regard by 21sl July, 2003. Yours faithfully, (SHARAT CHANDRA) Director (Inv.II III) Tele:23092616.
