Data entry of the all pending TEP in the offline utility and re-categorisation of the pending TEPs as on 01-04-2016 based on the usefulness of the TEPs - Income Tax - F. To The All the Director General of Income-tax (Investigation) (By Name) The Director General of Income Tax (I CI) (By Name) The Chief Commissioners of Income Tax (Central), Delhi, Mumbai I II (By Name) Sub : Data entry of the all pending TEP in the offline utility and re-categorisation of the pending TEPs as on 01-04-2016 based on the usefulness of the TEPs - reg: Ref : Board s F. No. 414/5/2016-IT (Inv.I) dated 04-03-2016 Sir, Kindly refer to the above mentioned subject. 2. Undersigned is directed to state that vide Board s letter dated 04-03-2016 (copy enclosed) it was requested to complete the data entry of the pending TEPs in the offline utility in a time bound manner by 15.03.2015. The status-report with respect to the TEPs that have been uploaded on the offline utility may be provided. 3. In this regard I am further directed to state that the usefulness and potential of all of pending TEPs as on 01-04-2016 may be reviewed in a time bound manner after due application of mind and the pending TEPs may again be re-categorised as per the extant instructions of handing TEPs. TEPs which are not useful or do not have potential for Investigation Directorate may either be closed or forwarded to the Assessing Officers as per the procedure laid down in extant instructions for handling TEPs. 4. It may further be noted that the Revised Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for management of Tax Evasion Petitions under Income Tax Business Application (ITBA) is in pipeline and shall be released once the TEP module on ITBA platform is ready to be rolled out. W.r.t the TEPs pending as on 01-04-2016 it is emphasized that only those TEPs may be entered on the offline utility which after the aforesaid review and re-categorization have been found to be useful and having potential for Investigation Directorate.
