GEN/COMP/19/2024-SEV- C.NO :1527058 Date : 08.07.2025 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 45 / 2025 Sub : Setting up of Trade Facilitation Centre at Custom House, Chennai 1. Considering the vital role of people s participation in making our country, Central Board of Indirect Taxes Customs has dedicated 75 Taxpayer Facilitation Centres (in GST Customs) to the taxpayer on the lines of theme : Idea, Achievement and Resolve across the country with emphasis on service delivery, grievance redressal and excellence in service. These TFCs will act as an on-going outreach platform for the various initiatives launched by the finance department from time to time. 2. Chennai Customs had therefore started a Trade Facilitation Centre (TFC). While there is ICEGATE Helpdesk, TSK and CBIC Saksham Seva through which the persons involved in import and export of goods can connect with for any Customs related issue, the TFC setup now to act as a local Helpdesk to assist the persons involved in import and export of goods with their informational needs, responses to any query and for hand-holding exercise for them from time to time. 3. The TFC will remain Open from 10 AM to 5.30 PM on all working days at the Ground Floor, Custom House, No.60, Rajaji Salai, Chennai-01. It is brought to the notice of all Importers, Exporters, Customs Brokers and other members of the Trade that the said Trade Facilitation Centre is a single window system for accepting/handling all Taxpayers queries, complaints/grievances etc in co-ordination with Sevottam at Ground Floor, Main Building. 4. TFC will also entertain queries from taxpayers via email, telephone and online chat (to be enabled later). The email ID is [email protected]. The telephone number is 044 25254574 is available in the Concerned Section to enquire through telephone. 5. On receiving a taxpayer s query, the TFC officer will get in touch with the concerned department and try to resolve the taxpayer s issue. Normally there should be no direct contact between the taxpayer and concerned department employee. In case such contact becomes necessary, the TFC officer will facilitate such meeting with the Asst Commissioner/Appraiser/Superintendent of the concerned Section. 6. The officers posted in the concerned section will attend the work related to the said Trade Facilitation Centre. 7. TFC officers will keep a record of the queries/name of person/IEC-Company Name/Purpose of visit-Querty/Address in brief with mobile no etc from taxpayers in an excel sheet/register, till such time a software is developed by CBIC. 8. A feedback form will be available in the TFC Section to take valuable feedback from the trade to enhance the trade practices and the services available or utilized by the trade at the concerned section. Based on the feedback form, the parameters of facilitations will be analyzed periodically as and when required. (PDF copy of feedback form is attached herewith). 9. All Importers, Exporters, Customs Brokers and other members of the Trade are advised to make best use of the above facilities in the available in the TFC Section.
