Procedure for issue of refund vouchers. - Income Tax - 1563/CBDT

INSTRUCTION NO. 1563/CBDT Dated: May 24, 1984 A case has recently come to the notice of the Board where three refund voucher forms and the corresponding advice notes were clandestinely removed from the respective refund order/advice books and sizeable refunds were fradulently encashed. Needless to say, the Board have viewed the matter with the grave concern. 2.Attention is invited to Board's Circular No.39,F.No.22/24/76-AP/DOMS, dated 15-7-1980 which lays down a detailed procedure for the issue of refund vouchers. It appears that the procedure laid down in the aforesaid circular is not being followed strictly by the field formations. 3. It is reiterated that the officers should be directed strictly follow the procedure laid down in the aforesaid circular and it should be made clear to them that any departure from these instructions will be dealt with seriously. 4. You are also requested to personally see that the instructions of the Board are followed by the officers working in your charge.
