Power to Search Persons and to Seize Such Record or Property Which May Be Useful For or Relevant to Proceedings Under the Act - 08/2013 - Prevention of Money-Laundering

MINISTRY OF FINANCE DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE Notification No. 08/2013 New Delhi, Dated 26-7-2013 SO 2309(E)- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 18 of the Prevention of Money-Laundering Act, 2002 (15 of 2003) (hereinafter referred to as the Act), the Central Government hereby authorizes Officers not below the rank of Assistant Directors in the Directorate of Enforcement to exercise the power to search persons and to seize such record or property which may be useful for or relevant to proceedings under the Act : Provided that the personal search shall be exercised only during the course of search and seizure operations under section 17 of the Act and subject to the limitations and safeguards provided under section 18 of the said Act.
