Central Government de-notifies an area of 8.96 hectares, thereby making resultant area as 3.62 hectares at Village Powai, District Mumbai in the State of Maharashtra - S.O. 4778(E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 5th September, 2018 S.O. 4778(E). -Whereas, M/s. HGP Community Pvt. Ltd. (Formally M/s. Hiranandani Builders), had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) , (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for Information Technology Information Technology Enabled Services at Village Powai, District Mumbai in the State of Maharashtra; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006 , had notified an area of 12.5891 hectares at the above Special Economic Zone vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification Number S.O. 579 (E), dated 13th April, 2007 ; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, further approved the request of change of name from M/s. Hiranandani Builders to M/s. HGP Community Private Limited vide letter dated 3rd February, 2017; AND, WHEREAS, M/s. HGP Community Pvt. Ltd. has now proposed for de-notification of 8.96 hectares from the above Special Economic Zone; AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Maharashtra has given its approval to the proposal vide letter No. SEZ-2017/CR-106 Ind-2, dated 6th June, 2018; AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, SEEPZ Special Economic Zone has recommended the proposal for de-notification of an area of 8.96 hectares of the Special Economic Zone; NOW, WHEREAS, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, the Central Government hereby de-notifies an area of 8.96 hectares, thereby making resultant area as 3.62 hectares, comprising the survey numbers and the area given below in the table, namely:- TABLE FOR DE-NOTIFICATION AREA Sl.
