SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE BOARD OF INDIA NOTIFICATION Mumbai, the 17 th August, 2004 S.O. No.954(E).- Whereas vide Notifications F. No. SEBI/LE/03/22/75 dated 25th November, 2003, F. No. SEBI/LE/0323142 dated 9th December, 2003, S.O. No. 467(E), dated 5th April, 2004, and S.O. No. 884(E) dated 30th July, 2004, certain specified intermediaries and their related persons were required to obtain unique identification numbers under sub-regulation (1) of Regulation 4 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Central Database of Market Participants) Regulations, 2003 (hereinafter referred to as the said Regulations ) within the 31st day of March, 2004 (which was later extended to the 31st day of June, 2004) or the 31st day of December, 2004, as the case may be; And whereas the Board has received representations about undue hardship which may be caused by insistence on strict compliance with the above time limits in respect of related persons of specified intermediaries being their promoters or directions who are resident outside India; Now therefore in excise of the powers conferred by sub-regulation (1) of Regulation 5A of the said regulations and after having been satisfied that it is necessary to do so in order to prevent genuine hardship, the Board hereby specifies the 30th day of June, 2005', as the extended date within which such promoters or directors of specified intermediaries, as are resident outside India, shall obtain unique identification numbers.
