MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) (SEZ DIVISION) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 16th August, 2022 S.O. 3868(E). -Whereas, M/s. State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited, had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) , (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for Transport Engineering Goods including manufacture of Tyres and Tubes for all purposes and for transport industry sector at State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited Industrial Growth Centre, Gangaikondan Village, Tirunelveli District, in the State of Tamil Nadu; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006 , notified an area of 103.238 hectares at above Special Economic Zone vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Gazette Notification Number S.O. 1156(E) dated 15th May, 2008 ; AND, WHEREAS, M/s. State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited has now proposed for de-notification of 51.3069 hectares from the above Special Economic Zone; AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Tamil Nadu has given its approval to the proposal vide letter No. 13032/MIE.2/2021-2, dated 11th May, 2022; AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, MEPZ Special Economic Zone has recommended the proposal for de-notification of an area of 51.3069 hectares of the Special Economic Zone. Further, as per the Developer i.e., M/s. State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited, after de-notification of the said area, the land will be utilized only for industrial use and it will be allotted to DTA industrial units; NOW, WHEREAS, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , the Central Government hereby de-notifies an area of 51.3069 hectares at State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited Industrial Growth Centre, Gangaikondan Village, Tirunelveli District, in the State of Tamil Nadu, thereby making resultant notified area as 51.9311 hectares.
