Central Excise (Amendment) Rules, 1994 - Application Form for Patta/Patti Compounded Levy Scheme Notification No. 37/94-C.E. (N.T.) Dated 2-9-1994 In exercise of the powers conferred by section 37 of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Central Excise Rules, 1944, namely :- 1. (1) These rules may be called the Central Excise (Amendment) Rules, 1994. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In Appendix I to the Central Excise Rules, 1944, - (1) In (I) List of Central Excise Forms, - (i) against Central Excise Series No. 56A, in the column relating to 'Rule No.', for the figures, letters and brackets "96ZX(1)", the figures, letters and brackets "96ZA, 96ZX(1)" shall be substituted; (ii) after Central Excise Series No. 62CC and the entries relating thereto, the following Central Excise Series No. and entries shall be inserted, namely :- Central Excise Series No. Description of Form Rule No. Short title "62CCC Application for removal of stainless steel pattis/pattas manufactured under the special procedure. 96ZC A.R. 8AA"; (iii) against Central Excise Series No. 85, - (a) in the column relating to 'Description of Form', after the words "marble slabs", the words "/stainless steel pattis or pattas" shall be inserted; (b) in the column relating to 'Rule No.', for the figures and letters "96ZH, 96ZW", the figures and letters "96ZA, 96ZH, 96ZW" shall be substituted. (2) in (II) Specimen Forms, - (i) in Form D.D.2, for the figures, letters and brackets "96S, 96ZX(1), 96ZZZ(i)", occurring under headings "Notice of Miscellaneous demand for payment of duty", "Certificate of payment" and "Notice of Miscellaneous demand for payment of duty", the figures, letters and brackets "96S, 96ZB, 96ZX(1), 96ZZZ(i)" shall respectively be substituted; (ii) after Form A.R. 8A, the following Form shall be inserted, namely :- "Central Excise Series No. 62-CCC Original Duplicate Triplicate Quadruplicate Form A.R. 8AA Application for removal of stainless steel pattis/pattas manufactured under the special procedure (Rule 96ZC) Name of Factory _____________________________________________________ Address _________________ (1) I/We __________________________________________ manufacturer(s) of stainless steel pattis/pattas residing at _______________________________Taluka/Tehsil_________________________District________________________ and holder(s) of Central Excise Registration No. ____________ dated ______________ having been permitted to avail myself/ourselves of the special provisions contained in section E-VI of Chapter V of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, in respect of my/our production and transactions in such stainless steel pattis/pattas at the above mentioned factory/factories hereby declare that I/We intend to install and employ the cold rolling machines for the production of stainless steel pattis/pattas during the year ___________ in the manner indicated below, and the total sum payable by me/us in terms of rule 96ZB in respect of the said period are stated hereunder :- No. of cold rolling machines to be installed and employed Rate prescribed in Government of India Notification No. 109/94-C.E., dated 13-5-1994 Sum payable under Rule 96ZB Total (1) (2) (3) (4) 2.
