Central Excise (Fourth Amendment) Rules, 1994 - Amendment to Rule 57R Notification No. 26/94-C.E. (N.T.) Dated 17-6-1994 In exercise of the powers conferred by section 37 of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Central Excise Rules, 1944 (hereinafter referred to as the said Rules), namely - 1. (i) These rules may be called the Central Excise (Fourth Amendment) Rules, 1994. (ii) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the said Rules, in rule 57R, for sub-rule (3), the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely :- "(3) The credit of the specified duty paid on the capital goods shall be allowed if such capital goods are acquired by a manufacturer on lease, hire-purchase or loan agreement, subject to such conditions and restrictions that may be specified in the notification issued by the Central Government."
