Effective rate of additional duty for specified goods of Chapters 17, 24 and 50 to 60 - Notification Nos. 9/96-C.E. and 17/96-C.E. - Amended Notification No. 27/96-C.E. Dated 3-9-1996 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 5A of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), read with sub-section (3) of section 3 of the Additional Duties of Excise (Goods of Special Importance ) Act, 1957 (58 of 1957), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed, shall be amended or further amended, as the case may be, in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table. Sl.No . Notification No. and date Amendment (1) (2) (3) 1. 9/96-Central Excises, dated the 23rd July, 1996 In the Table annexed to the said notification,- (i) against S. No. 11, - (a) in column (3), for the figures "25", the figures "30" shall be substituted; (b) in column (4), for the figures and words "4% ad valorem ", the figures and words "3.2% ad valorem " shall be substituted; (ii) against S. No 12, in column (3), for the figures "25", the figures "30" shall be substituted; (iii) against S. No. 24 in column (3), for the figures "25", the figures "30" shall be substituted. 2. 17/96-Central Excises, dated the 23rd July, 1996. In the Table annexed to the said notification,- (i) against S.No. 7, for the entry in column (4), the entry "8% ad valorem " shall be substituted; (ii) against S.No. 8, for the entry in column (4), the entry "8% ad valorem " shall be substituted; (iii) against S. No. 10, for the entry in column (4), the entry "8% ad valorem " shall be substituted. 2. This notification shall come into effect on and from the 4th day of September, 1996.
