Amendments to Notifications No. 231/85-C.E., No. 56/88-C.E., No. 38/90-C.E., No. 25/93-C.E. and No. 27/93-C.E. Notification No. 25/94-C.E. Dated 1-3-1994 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 5A of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed, shall be amended or further amended, as the case may be, in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table. In the said notification, after Explanation. - (4), the following paragraph shall be added, namely:- "4. This notification shall remain in force upto and inclusive of the 31st day of March, 1994.". 2. No. 56/88-Central Excises, dated the 1st March, 1988. In the said notification, after paragraph 6, the following paragraph shall be added, namely :- "7. This notification shall remain in force upto and inclusive of the 31st day of March, 1994". 3. No. 38/90-Central Excises, dated the 20th March, 1990. In the Table annexed to the said notification, S. No. 2 and the entries relating thereto shall be omitted. 4. No. 25/93-Central Excises, dated the 28th February, 1993. In the said notification, - (a) in the Table, in column (3), for the entry against S. No. 1, the entry "20% ad valorem " shall be substituted; (b) after the Table, the following explanation shall be added, namely :- " Explanation. - For the purpose of this notification the expression 'Flat belts or beltings' shall not in clude belts or beltings commonly known as 'fan' or 'V' belts or beltings.". 5. No. 27/93-Central Excises, dated the 28th February, 1993. In the Table annexed to the said notification, in column (4), for the entry against S. No. 4, the entry, "20% ad valorem" shall be substituted.
