Amends Notification No. 116/88-C.E. Notification No. 68/93-C.E. Dated 28-2-1993 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 5 A of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 116/88-Central Excises, dated the 1st March, 1988, namely :- In the Table annexed to the said notification,- (i) the heading "(B) OPHTHALMIC EQUIPMENTS" and all the items specified thereunder shall be omitted; and (ii) the heading "(C) OTHER MEDICAL EQUIPMENTS", shall be read as "(B) OTHER MEDICAL EQUIPMENTS".
