Amends Notification No. 49/86-C.E. to raise the full exemption limit for footwear from Rs. 75.00 to Rs. 125.00 per pair Notification No. 34/93-C.E. Dated 28-2-1993 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 5A of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 49/86-Central Excises, dated the 10th February, 1986, namely :- In the Table annexed to the said notification,- (i) against S. No. 2, in column (3), in the entry, for the words "wood or leather", the words "wood, leather or masonite" shall be substituted; and (ii) against S. No. 3, in column (4), in the entry, for the word and figures "Rs. 75.00", the words and figures "Rs. 125" shall be substituted.
