Amendment to Notification No. 257/88-C.E. [ Ch. 87] Notification No. 153/89-C.E. Dated 4-7-1989 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 5A of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interet so to do, hereby makes the following amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 257/88-Central Excises, dated the 30th September, 1988, namely :- In the said notification, (i) the first proviso shall be omitted; and (ii) in the second proviso, for the words "Provided further that", the words "Provided that" shall be substituted.
