Jute fibre [Chapter 53] Notification No. 6/87-C.E. Dated 19-1-1987 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Government hereby exempts jute fibre, falling within Chapter 53 of the Schedule to the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985 (5 of 1986) and consumed within the factory in which it is produced for the manufacture of jute products, from the whole of the duty of excise leviable thereon under section 3 of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944).
