Amends 4 existing Notifications - 260/86 - Central Excise - TariffExtract Amends 4 existing Notifications Notification No. 260/86-C.E. Dated 24-4-1986 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Government hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed, shall be amended or further amended, as the case may be, in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table. TABLE Sl. No. Notification No. and date Amendment (1) (2) (3) 1. 69/84-Central Excises, dated the 1st March, 1984. In the Table annexed to the said notification, Sl. Nos. 9 and 11 and the entries relating thereto shall be omitted. 2. 114/86-Central Excises, dated the 1st March, 1986. In the Table annexed to the said notification, for Sl. No. 3 and the entries relating thereto, the following shall be substituted, namely :— (1) (2) (3) "3. Castor oil Nil 4. Tobacco seed oil Nil 5. Mustard/Rapeseed oil Rs. 750 per tonne. 6. Other fixed vegetable oils. Rs. 1500 per tonne.". 3. 138/86-Central Excises, dated the 1st March, 1986. In the said notification,— (a) in the proviso, after clause (iv), the following clause shall be inserted, namely :— "(v) the exemption contained in this notification shall not apply to a manufacturer of paper or paperboards who avails of the exemption under notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 175/86-Central Excises, dated the 1st March, 1986.". (b) in the Explanation , after the words "the clearances of paper and paper boards", the words "which are chargeable to nil rate of duty or" shall be inserted. 4. 139/86-Central Excises, dated the 1st March, 1986. In the said notification, in the opening paragraph, for the words and figures "ten per cent ad valorem plus Rs. 850 per tonne", the words and figures "ten per cent ad valorem plus Rs. 700 per tonne" shall be substituted.
